Job summary

Principal Mineral is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Camden, South Carolina, onsite. You will lead design, procurement support, installation oversight and commissioning of electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, drives, and power distribution, to improve reliability and safety across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3–5 years of practical electrical engineering experience in heavy industrial, chemical processing, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with 480/277 VAC and 208/120 VAC power distribution.
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Proficiency with ETAP, AutoCAD, and/or EPLAN for design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, procurement support and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Design and optimize plant electrical infrastructure including PLCs, motors, drives, and power distribution.
• Create and review electrical drawings (one-line/three-line diagrams, MV/LV distribution, MCCs).
• Perform short-circuit calculations, load projections, cable sizing, voltage drop, and protection studies.
• Program, update, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and sensor networks.
• Ensure NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA compliance and relevant standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical/process engineers, EPC teams, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and commissioning plans.
• Support maintenance and reliability improvements for critical electrical systems.
