Job summary

Principal Mineral seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Camden, SC, delivering plant modernization and capital improvement projects. You will apply deep technical expertise to ensure mechanical designs, vendor deliverables, fabrication approaches, and field execution plans are safe, constructible, and cost-effective.

As the Mechanical Engineer, you will own mechanical systems from concept through startup—covering design, procurement support, installation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with design reviews and industry codes (ASME/API).

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering scopes from concept through commissioning.
Specify and select pumps, boilers, chillers, compressors, and HVAC systems.
Prepare mechanical equipment specifications and assist with vendor bid evaluations.
Review drawings and ensure compliance with ASME, API, and local safety codes.
Collaborate with EPC partners and internal teams to deliver buildable engineering packages.
Develop and maintain engineering drawings and project documentation.
Track project costs and schedules to align with capital plans.
Support checkout, startup planning, and PSSR activities.
