Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to support an Asset Management program at a client facility in Granite City, IL.

This field-based role embeds at the site, focusing on electrical asset evaluation, reliability engineering, and long-term capital planning. You will serve as the on-site engineering resource, translating inspection findings into sound engineering solutions while coordinating with Orbital's project team to ensure risk-based decisions and

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from a accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in industrial environments.
• Experience with power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and related equipment.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries (power gen, oil & gas, refining, manufacturing).
• Ability to independently develop engineering evaluations, reliability studies, and capital recommendations.
• Experience supporting electrical capital projects or contributing to RFP/proposal responses.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site electrical engineering resource for asset and infrastructure evaluations.
• Evaluate electrical infrastructure to identify reliability risks and improvements.
• Review inspection findings and translate field data into engineering recommendations.
• Perform site visits to verify conditions and inform decisions, not as an inspector.
• Prepare reports, condition assessments, and technical recommendations for client and Orbital.
