Job summary

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking an EHS Continuous Improvement Specialist to lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and ergonomic risk reduction on first shift in Reno, NV. The role partners with production, engineering, and leadership to drive sustainable safety improvements and strengthen the safety culture across the facility.

Responsibilities include on-floor engagement, leading improvement projects, tracking corrective actions, and using problem-solving tools like 5 Whys

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, environmental health and safety, industrial engineering, continuous improvement, operations, or a related field.
• Experience conducting investigations and problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations involving injuries, first aid cases, near misses, property damage events, safety observations, environmental incidents, and other workplace events.
• Conduct root cause analysis utilizing structured problem‑solving methodologies.
• Gather evidence, interview employees, collect witness statements, and document investigation findings.
• Develop comprehensive investigation reports, corrective action plans, and leadership presentations.
• Assign, track, and verify completion of corrective actions.
• Evaluate corrective action effectiveness and identify opportunities for additional risk reduction.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field
