Job summary

Dexis is seeking an Editorial Technician I to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program. The role edits and proofs technical documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, clarity, and consistency, and ensures final copy reflects editorial changes.

Work is onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with potential travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required. Must have strong MS Word and Adobe Acrobat skills and be eligible for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as an Editorial Technician or similar editing role.
• Associate’s degree in English/Journalism/Technical Writing or Science, or a Bachelor’s degree in these fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and style.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite in Aberdeen, MD as required.

Responsibilities

• Edit documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format.
• Revise sentences and paragraph order to improve clarity.
• Determine publication format and layout requirements.
• Verify statements against figures, illustrations, and references.
• Insert web links, photos, graphics, and videos as needed.
• Proofread final copy and ensure editorial changes are applied.
