Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Automation Analyst to support a long-term DoD program, 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA. You will identify manual processes, translate requirements into automation use cases, and develop, test, deploy, and maintain automated workflows across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on PowerShell/Python experience, workflow automation skills, and familiarity with CI/CD, APIs, and enterprise integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in systems engineering, automation or related technical disciplines.
• Active Secret clearance and IAT Level II certification.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; equivalent experience considered.
• Hands-on PowerShell and/or Python experience.
• Experience translating requirements into automation solutions.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze processes to identify automation opportunities and efficiency gains.
• Document current and future-state workflows and automation requirements.
• Partner with multiple teams to define automation use cases and plans.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain automation solutions.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, UiPath and REST APIs.
• Create reusable automation components and integrations with enterprise apps.
• Implement logging, error handling, retries, and automated recovery.
• Support CI/CD and configuration management practices (Ansible/Jenkins/Git/Azure DevOps).
• Develop dashboards with Power BI and monitor automation performance with Splunk.
