Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Jr. Automation & Orchestration Engineer to support a long-term DoD program focused on automation, orchestration, site reliability, release management, and infrastructure engineering.

This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA, with a start time between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. The role concentrates on automating routine operations, software updates, system configurations, testing, deployments, and release processes using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, CI/CD pipelines,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
1-2+ years hands-on experience in site engineering, infrastructure automation, DevOps, SRE, or related discipline.
Active Secret Clearance required.
Ability to obtain IAT Level II baseline such as Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, etc.

Responsibilities

Support site reliability engineering and automation across enterprise environments.
Automate routine infrastructure tasks and deployments.
Develop and test Ansible playbooks and automation workflows.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and IaC tooling.
Troubleshoot automation failures and deployment issues.
Document automation processes and runbooks.
Work onsite in Norfolk, VA with 6:00-8:00 AM start.
