Job summary

Capstone Copper is seeking a meticulous Document Control Specialist for a six-month on-site contract in Miami, AZ. You will manage the full lifecycle of controlled documents, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient workflows across departments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years in document control and 4 years handling cross-functional programs. Mining health, safety, and environmental experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or the social sciences.
• 5 years’ experience in document control.
• 4 years’ experience working independently to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
• 4 years’ experience managing programs that require collaboration with stakeholders across multiple levels and functions of a business.
• Experience in mining operations.
• Experience in health, safety, and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the site document control system to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and version control of all critical documentation.
• Manage the full lifecycle of controlled documents, including creation, review, approval, distribution, revision, archiving, and controlled destruction.
• Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and management system frameworks.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and other departments to ensure controlled documents reflect current practices and regulatory obligations.
• Provide training and guidance to site personnel on document control procedures, version management, and proper use of controlled documents.
• Act as the primary point of contact for document control inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal customers.
• Monitor document control KPIs and generate regular reports on document status, overdue reviews, and compliance metrics.
• Identify opportunities to streamline document workflows and implement process improvements aligned with lean and continuous improvement principles.
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity of all controlled information in accordance with company policies and data protection standards.
• Monitor adherence to program standards, including establishing and conducting regular audits.
