Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking an experienced Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) Detective for onsite work at the Public Safety Administration Building in Peoria, AZ. Candidates should have at least three years in DFU detective roles and remain active in the field, with the selection process including an oral board interview and tabletop exercise.

Prospective detectives must complete Detective FTO and Patrol FTO training, with a probation period of one year.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience working as a Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) Detective, recovering, analyzing, and preserving electronic evidence.
• Must have been in the DFU Detective role within the last 12 months or currently in the role.
• Successful completion of Detective FTO and Patrol FTO training as part of the assignment process.

Responsibilities

• Detectives work a Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday schedule with 0700-1700 hours, onsite at Peoria's Public Safety Administration Building.
• Assist with staffing shortages in Patrol and may work occasional overtime shifts.
• Participate in oral board interviews and tabletop exercises as part of the selection process.
