Job summary

TEKsystems in Augusta, GA is seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer for an on-site, contract-to-hire role. You will design, implement, and manage automation solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC across cloud and on-prem infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has security clearance, Terraform/Ansible expertise, Python/JavaScript scripting, and strong CI/CD experience. This full-time on-site position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Must have and maintain Secret Security Clearance, and be eligible for Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI.
• Must have a valid Security+ Certification.
• Must have at least one year of hands-on Virtualization experience.
• Extensive experience with automation tools and technologies, including Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficiency in scripting such as Python and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline implementation and management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with cloud management and automation solutions.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions for automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements automation solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Creates and maintains scripts using Python, JavaScript, and other relevant languages.
• Develops and manages infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions for reproducible deployments.
• Implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Integrates automated testing and deployment processes to ensure high-quality releases.
• Collaborates with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Manages cloud and on-premises infrastructure using virtualization platforms.
• Monitors performance, availability, and security of automated systems.
• Optimizes automation solutions to reduce manual intervention and increase scalability.
• Troubleshoots automation processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Works with security teams to identify automation opportunities and implement controls.
• Provides training and documentation to support adoption of automation technologies.
• Implements security best practices within automation solutions.
• Ensures compliance with policies and standards in automation activities.
• Keeps up-to-date with DevOps trends and technologies.
• Identifies opportunities to improve processes and implement enhancements.
• Participates in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
