Job summary

Mercantile Bank of Michigan is seeking a Deposit Operations Specialist I in Alma, MI. This onsite role focuses on accurate day-to-day deposit processing, system maintenance, and delivering excellent service to internal and external customers.

You will review queues and reports, verify data across screens, handle stop payment items, prepare notices, and document workflows to keep the team compliant and efficient.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in accounting/bookkeeping, data entry, and reconciling between at least two reports.
• Strong communication, customer service, organization, and attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent job-related education/experience).
• Personal mobile device available for system sign-in and emergency procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform various account/customer maintenance using multiple bank systems
• Verification of the maintenance performed within the department and account booking
• Placement and verification of Stop Payment requests into Bank systems daily
• Review of system reports for proper coding, account function and posting
