Job summary

Comgent is recruiting a Resident Network Engineer to operate and maintain a data centre network in the Columbia area, Maryland. You will work directly with customer engineers to investigate incidents, restore service and improve day-to-day network reliability in Juniper QFX, MX, EX and SRX environments.

A TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is required, and the role is onsite, 40 hours per week on a contract basis.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of relevant work experience in network engineering environments.
• Experience operating data centre networks and collaborating with customer engineers.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the data centre network with strong routing/switching knowledge.
• Investigate faults with customer engineers and vendor support to drive resolution.
• Open and track technical support cases with clear diagnostic evidence and progress updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve network design and operation balancing priorities.
• Deliver informal briefings and formal training sessions to customer teams.
