Job summary

TEKsystems in Detroit, MI is seeking Data Center Technicians (L2-L4) for an onsite contract role at a Saline, MI data center environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting server hardware, deployments, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

The role covers rack-and-stack, fiber/copper cabling, and preventative maintenance in a production data center. L2-L4 experience with enterprise-grade hardware is preferred; domestic relocation is considered for onsite work.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of data center, hardware, IT support, or network infrastructure experience.
• Familiarity with servers, cabling, hardware upgrades, or troubleshooting.
• Experience working with hand tools and basic testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair enterprise server and networking hardware.
• Perform hardware break/fix including RAM, CPUs, NICs, SSDs/HDDs, power supplies, fans, and other server components.
• Rack, stack, cable, install, and decommission servers and network devices.
• Run, label, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Execute hardware upgrades, moves, additions, and changes within a live production environment.
• Support large-scale server deployment and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Utilize ticketing systems to document work and track incidents.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and operational health checks.
• Follow established safety, security, and operational procedures.
