Job summary

Leidos invites aspiring cybersecurity students to join the Summer 2027 Internship Program as a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, on-site at Ford Island, HI. You will work directly with SOC analysts embedded in the GSM-O II contract, gaining hands-on experience protecting DoD networks and defending DISN infrastructure.

Learn to triage alerts, analyze traffic, review IOC indicators, and document incident findings for leadership. On-site requirements emphasize hands-on, real-world defense in depth.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Solid grounding in TCP/IP, common networking ports (80/443/21/22), OSI model, and defense‑in‑depth principles.
• Academic knowledge of Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks; basic malware concepts.
• Analytical mindset with proactive problem solving and strong written/verbal communication.
• Team player with collaborative work style and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and NetFlow to identify malicious activity.
• Assist senior analysts with network traffic analysis and correlating security events.
• Shadow incident response to learn containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
• Review Open-Source threat intel and identify Indicators of Compromise to improve detection.
• Perform preliminary analysis of potential incidents by examining connections and logs.
• Create clear technical documentation and incident reports for leadership.
