Job summary

Boston Government Services in Oak Ridge, TN, is seeking a Commissioning and Startup Test Engineer to support the Y-12 National Security Complex. The role requires leading test planning, documentation, and coordination with field engineers to ensure equipment commissioning and startup activities meet safety and performance standards.

The CSU Engineer will work onsite Monday–Friday, with potential overtime, leveraging DOE, NQA-1, and NFPA-70e knowledge to validate installations and support

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree plus ≥5 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance (DOE Q).
• Familiarity with DOE O 426.2A requirements or equivalent.
• Experience with commissioning/startup testing and documentation.
• On-site work at Y-12 Oak Ridge with regular 40-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning and startup activities including test planning and documentation.
• Plan CSU execution activities with schedules and resource estimates.
• Prepare test records and pre-operation testing binders.
• Participate in turnover walkthroughs and field coordination.
• Ensure safety and compliance with test procedures and schedules.
