Job summary

The Michaels Organization seeks a Community Manager for the Urgent Response Team to travel between multifamily communities, manage onsite operations and lead staff until permanent management is restored. You will oversee leasing, budgeting, reporting and resident relations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Ideal candidates have multifamily management and leasing experience, with strong leadership and financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multifamily housing and supervising staff.
• Leasing experience in multifamily properties.
• Accredited Resident Manager or similar designation preferred.
• Background in accounting/finance and administration preferred.
• Experience with Tax Credit, Section 8 or public housing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff management, training, safety, and performance.
• Coordinate hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Schedule staffing and approve time off requests.
• Train staff on safety procedures and report accidents.
• Develop leasing marketing campaigns with Leasing & Marketing.
• Ensure residents meet eligibility and compliance with laws.
• Assist in annual budgeting and maintain financial records.
• Supervise contractors and manage vendor contracts.
• Oversee move‑in/out inspections and resident relations.
• Maintain relationships with residents and community services.
• Adhere to Michaels policies and maintain financial records.
• Obtain required certifications within the first year.
• Process service, maintenance and capital needs contracts.
• Issue purchase orders and process invoices.
