Job summary

Winpak Films in Senoia, GA is seeking a Cost Accountant to join the Finance team. You will oversee and improve cost accounting processes across film production and conversion operations, analyze manufacturing costs, develop cost models, and support pricing decisions while maintaining fixed asset records.

You will report to the Controller and collaborate with operations, sales, maintenance, project management, and accounting teams to drive cost efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive financial or analytical experience, preferably in manufacturing or logistics/distribution.
• Experience with an enterprise resource planning system and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to analyze data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to employees and management.
• Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee standard costing system and improve costing processes, systems, and practices.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Develop dynamic cost models and perform what-if analyses for resin, scrap, labor, packaging, transportation, and more.
• Review daily gross margin reports, investigate abnormalities, and provide cost insights to management.
• Partner with operations to identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and manage costs.
• Collect, analyze, and present cost results and recommendations to upper management.
• Reconcile fixed asset activity to the general ledger and ensure accurate asset records.
• Prepare fixed asset and depreciation reports and support month/quarter/year-end close and audits.
• Observe maintenance spare parts counts and complete ad hoc analyses and projects.
