Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Controls Engineer for an onsite role in the Washington, DC area. The engineer will design, program, test, and commission control systems for mission critical facilities with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include SCADA development, PLC programming, site acceptance testing, and field integration. This role requires strong communication with operators and stakeholders and may travel within the DC region to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred but not required.
• Experience in mission critical facilities is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in controls and automation.

Responsibilities

• Support operators by planning and conducting system acceptance testing.
• Configure field devices and integrate with SCADA/PLC systems.
• Develop SCADA functionality using block diagrams and structured text.
• Program and test PLC logic for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes.
