Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Controls Engineer for a permanent, onsite role in Mebane, NC. You will lead design, programming, integration and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing systems, acting as the controls and automation SME for the facility.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls engineering with 5+ years of controls experience, and 3+ years in manufacturing and maintenance. The role offers strong growth and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years of controls engineering experience.
• At least three years of manufacturing experience.
• At least three years of maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and program automation solutions using PLC and SCADA technologies.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, and related control systems.
• Lead hardware and software integration for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers to source and implement instrumentation and controls.
• Support production equipment while balancing safety, quality, service and profitability.
• Maintain CAD files, drawings, schematics, and controls documentation.
• Perform root-cause analysis on maintenance and production losses; implement countermeasures.
• Develop preventive-maintenance tasks and lead continuous-improvement initiatives for reliability.
• Train operators and support autonomous-maintenance practices.
• Prepare project plans, schedules and capital-expenditure inputs.
• Execute concurrent capital projects from concept through commissioning and handoff.
• Coordinate resources and proposed changes through change-management processes.
