Job summary

General Motors Corporation in Pontiac, Michigan seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to support plant floor maintenance and production teams. You will program PLCs, HMIs and robots, troubleshoot equipment, and drive small to mid-size projects to improve throughput and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years of controls engineering experience.
Ability to work all shifts and overtime as needed.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and diagnose electrical issues.

Responsibilities

Program PLCs, HMIs, robots and other manufacturing technologies.
Provide plant floor controls engineering support (production, breakdowns, line transitions).
Lead small–medium plant projects aimed at improving throughput and quality.
Implement continuous improvement across plant equipment and processes.
Coordinate with safety reviews, cross-shift meetings, and training for maintenance & production.
