Job summary

Adecco is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer - Controls & Automation to develop, implement, and optimize automation systems on the manufacturing floor. You will troubleshoot PLCs, develop HMIs, and drive reliability improvements across production lines.

The role requires close collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and vendors to execute capital projects and start-up activities, with a strong emphasis on hands-on on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and support automation and controls solutions for manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC-based control systems.
• Support configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of HMIs and machine control systems.
• Integrate automation systems, sensors, drives, and other industrial control components.
• Provide hands-on technical support for automated production equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues and perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Lead or support equipment installations, startups, commissioning, and system upgrades.
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and production performance.
• Participate in capital projects from planning through startup.
• Identify opportunities for automation and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on technical solutions.
• Provide engineering support for existing production equipment and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation on controls, modifications, and projects.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with standards.
