Job summary

Bel-Aire Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations in a construction-focused environment. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and project-level accounting to ensure accurate financial data.

The role offers opportunities to work with project managers, improve processes, and gain exposure to construction accounting, including job costing and revenue recognition, in a hands-on office setting in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
• Familiarity with construction accounting and project costing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries with documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end close and year-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate schedules and analyses for reporting.
• Support job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition for projects.
