Job summary

Ampcus Inc in Mobile, AL seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to provide onsite construction safety support, implement OSHA and customer safety standards, and serve as the primary safety contact on the project.

You will conduct inspections, document unsafe conditions, coordinate corrective actions with project management and the EHS representative, and ensure compliance with safety plans. The role requires strong communication and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction safety experience.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Fall-protection training and NFPA 70E knowledge.
• Experience with solar installations, cranes, trenching, and electrical work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety documentation systems.
• Strong field communication, coaching, and escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform site safety inspections and document findings.
• Promote injury prevention and safety culture.
• Coordinate corrective actions with project management.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and lead safety meetings.
• Prepare safety reports, AHAs/JHAs, and incident investigations.
• Support emergency planning and toolbox talks.
• Maintain training records and orientation logs.
• Enforce stop-work authority when required.
