Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to provide on-site construction safety support in Mobile, Alabama.

The SSHO will implement safety protocols, ensure OSHA compliance, and coordinate corrective actions with project management and the EHS team. Responsibilities include performing inspections, documenting unsafe conditions, supervising subcontractor safety, and maintaining daily safety records.

Qualifications

• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Minimum of five years of construction safety experience.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Fall-protection training.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910 requirements.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E safety practices applicable to assigned work.
• Experience with solar installations, carport structures, aerial lifts, crane operations, electrical construction, and trenching activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-designated document management systems.
• Strong field communication, documentation, coaching, and escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite construction safety support and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and customer safety standards.
• Serve as primary onsite contact for safety matters and coordinate corrective actions with project management.
• Perform formal safety inspections at least three days per week and document findings.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and enforce safety plans and AHAs/JHAs as required.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety documentation and reports including corrective actions.
