Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Manager in Alexandria, VA for a 5-month 1099 contract. The role oversees daily safety operations on renovation projects, conducts JSAs, leads toolbox talks, and ensures OSHA compliance.

The ideal candidate has OSHA 510 certification, 5+ years in construction safety, and strong documentation and communication skills to coordinate with project leadership and field staff. Local candidates preferred for a site-based, fast-paced assignment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Experience leading toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Strong understanding of PPE requirements and enforcement.
• Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Ability to conduct jobsite audits and safety inspections.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily onsite safety oversight for renovation activities.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for planned work activities.
• Lead toolbox talks and daily safety discussions with field personnel.
• Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices throughout the project.
• Perform routine jobsite inspections and safety observations.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with supervision, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and project safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project.
• Support project leadership in achieving safety and compliance objectives.
