Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator in Richmond, VA. The role involves field safety oversight across multiple active projects, with inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to ensure OSHA and client safety requirements are met.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA 30, 3–5 years of commercial construction safety experience, and expertise in trenching, excavation, and confined space safety.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• 3–5 years of commercial construction safety experience.
• Experience with trenching, excavation, and confined spaces required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety support across multiple active construction projects.
• Maintain a strong field presence through regular site visits.
• Conduct inspections, safety audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor excavation, trenching, confined space, and general construction activities.
• Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and safety documents.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with teams.
• Provide safety coaching and reinforce safe work practices on site.
• Support project managers and superintendents with site-specific safety needs.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Support employee orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Maintain inspection records and compliance documentation.
• Promote consistent safety standards across all projects.
