Job summary

The Boston Housing Authority (BHA) seeks a Construction Representative to oversee capital projects on-site, ensuring conformance with construction documents, schedules, and quality standards.

Working with PMs, designers, and contractors, you will maintain records, coordinate resident access, and report progress daily to keep projects on track while safeguarding tenant wellbeing and community disruption.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction administration/management or Clerk of the Works or Owner's Representative.
• Experience in affordable housing construction and occupied building modernization preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; highly organized and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Maintain familiarity with BHA buildings and sites to support capital planning.
• Review CDs and collaborate with the PM to monitor construction conformance.
• Assist contractor’s superintendent in interpreting Construction Documents.
• Attend weekly job meetings with Contractor, Design Consultant and PM.
• Report daily construction progress and resolve issues or delays.
• Ensure work conforms to CDs and approved shop drawings; report deviations.
• Verify materials meet specifications and submittals.
• Document issues with photos and narratives; manage on-site visitors and tours.
• Coordinate testing procedures and access for residents during construction.
• Maintain construction records including change orders and payment applications.
