Job summary

The Breeden Company, Inc. is seeking a Construction Intern to support our multi-family project teams in Virginia Beach.

This 10-week paid internship offers hands-on exposure to field operations, coordination with project engineers, and learning the Breeden pre-construction and project management processes. Interns participate in onboarding, OSHA-10 and First-Aid/ CPR training, rotate through pre-construction and active project assignments, and gain practical experience in reading plans,

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent Excel, Word, Outlook, and related estimating, project management and scheduling tools.
• Bluebeam proficiency and understanding.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with team members, subcontractors, and others professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing elements of the construction process assigned to the Intern.
• Report to the assigned project managers and support teams.
• Follow all company policies, mission and values.
• Participate in a 10-week Summer Intern Program and onboarding.
• Learn Breeden's pre-construction process and project management duties.
• Develop skills in reading plans, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Support safety compliance and coordinate with subcontractors on site.
