Job summary

International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This hands-on role requires coordinating with field leadership and self-perform crews to manage schedule, cost, quality, safety, and overall execution.

You will lead multiple projects, manage budgets and forecasts, prepare submittals, and ensure compliance with drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction project management required; 5+ years preferred.
• Commercial construction experience required; onsite role.
• Experience managing budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and field coordination.
• Procore and Excel proficiency; Tekla and Bluebeam a plus.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Willingness to work primarily onsite at the project location.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Own budgets, cost forecasting, productivity tracking, and financial performance.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including manpower, materials, equipment, and deliveries.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and self-perform field crews.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and material requirements.
• Lead communication with general contractors, owners, architects, and engineers.
• Manage progress meetings, billings, pay applications, and project closeout.
• Maintain strong jobsite safety and quality standards.
