Actalent is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support commercial renovation and tenant fit-out projects in Albany, NY. The role involves coordinating field activities, scheduling, and documentation from preconstruction through closeout, with pathway to Project Management or Superintendent leadership.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in construction, understands scheduling and subcontractor coordination, and can read drawings.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, construction management, or field supervision.
• Experience with renovation, tenant fit-out, interior construction, or commercial projects.
• Understanding of construction scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction best practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of commercial renovation and tenant fit-out projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Coordinate daily field activities, subcontractors, vendors, and site logistics.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, and stakeholders.
• Conduct site walks and inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Help manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on job sites.
• Track material deliveries, site progress, and subcontractor performance.
• Identify and help resolve field issues, schedule impacts, and coordination challenges.
• Maintain daily reports and project records.
• Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and project closeout activities.
