Job summary

Thomas Young Group is a respected general contractor with a long history of delivering high-quality renovations and new builds in Raleigh. The role focuses on leading onsite construction for commercial and institutional projects, ensuring adherence to plans, schedules, and safety standards.

You will coordinate subs, vendors, inspections, and deliveries, and act as the primary on-site liaison with project managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction experience in commercial or institutional sectors.
• Experience in life sciences or healthcare construction is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or coursework in Construction Management preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
• Track record of enforcing safety, quality, and scheduling standards in the field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with a hands-on leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite construction activities for commercial and institutional projects, ensuring alignment with plans, specs, schedules and safety standards.
• Coordinate daily operations at the job site, managing subs, vendors, inspections, and deliveries to prevent delays.
• Conduct site walks, safety meetings, and quality control inspections to ensure regulatory and company guidelines are met.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers, design teams, and clients, ensuring clear communication.
• Identify and resolve field issues to maintain momentum and minimize rework.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, safety reports, and progress updates for transparency.
