Job summary

Orion, based in Houston, Texas, is seeking an Accountant to provide accounting and financial reporting support to Accounting leadership. The role focuses on month-end close, project accounting for current construction projects, and ensuring compliance with ASC 842 lease standards and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

You will prepare monthly and year-end journal entries, conduct GL analysis, support audits, and assist with ad hoc projects while upholding SOX controls and Orion's core values of

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Accounting (preferred).
• Minimum 4 years' experience in accounting functions.
• Proficient in MS Access, Excel, and MS Dynamics or similar.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Accounting leadership and supports annual corporate goals.
• Ensure lease transactions are recorded per ASC 842 with analysis.
• Ensure revenue recognition per ASC 606 with documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare monthly and year-end journal entries and financial reports.
• Perform general ledger analysis at period end.
• Advise leadership on accounting issues and solutions.
• Respond to adhoc projects and requests.
• Own and manage assigned account reconciliations.
• Assist with audit requests and responses.
• Ensure SOX controls compliance in daily operations.
