Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Project Manager for a highly respected self‑perform concrete contractor in the Chicago area. You will lead commercial concrete construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a long backlog and strong retention.

You will own budgets, schedules, procurement, change management, and coordinate with field teams, superintendents, and clients. Onsite work in job trailers is standard.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of construction Project Management experience.
• Experience managing commercial concrete construction projects.
• Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate field activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from award through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
• Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material costs.
• Generate, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Identify, price, negotiate, and document change orders.
• Build and maintain project schedules and concrete placement plans.
• Coordinate formwork, rebar installation, concrete placement, post‑tensioning, and finishing operations.
• Work closely with Superintendents to direct self‑perform field crews.
• Manage procurement of concrete, reinforcement, formwork systems, and specialty materials.
• Coordinate vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Lead progress meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Manage billings, pay applications, and project documentation.
• Complete project closeout activities including punch lists, as‑builts, and final documentation
