Qualifications

• 1-2 years electrical/electronic equipment experience and mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in the federal sector.
• Must be a current union member or willing to join the union.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment as required onsite.
• Works safely to prevent injuries and material loss and cleans up debris.
• Contacts customers prior to installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates following supervisor directions.
• Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Tests system operation and establishes service with the monitoring center.
• Reads building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles notifications.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.
