Job summary

RTX's Bridgeport, WV Engine Center is seeking a meticulous CMM Inspector to perform precision dimensional inspection on aircraft engine components undergoing overhaul and repair. You will use CMMs, PC-DMIS and other precision tools to verify dimensions, fits and clearances in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

This onsite role requires reading complex engineering drawings and GD&T, collaborating with Engineering and Quality to ensure conformance to specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of dimensional inspection or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to use precision measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection duties for engine overhaul and repair.
• Operate a CMM and perform measurements.
• Use height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Read general instructions, drawings, service bulletins and manuals.
• Interpret complex blueprints and work with engineering on measurements.
• Read and understand measurement tolerances.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) as required.
• Ensure conformance to overhaul/repair specifications and report issues.
