Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a contract Clinical Trial Manager for a client in Redwood City, CA. The role is onsite with a hybrid arrangement in Redwood City, supporting early-stage oncology studies.

The role requires at least 5 years of clinical operations experience, with most of that in oncology, and a proven track record of managing CROs and vendors. Direct experience with Phase 1 or other early-stage trials is strongly preferred.

• At least 5 years of clinical operations experience.
• Most of that experience in oncology.
• Track record of managing vendors with concrete examples.
• Strongly preferred: Direct experience managing Phase 1 or other early-stage trials.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of early-stage clinical trials from startup through closeout.
• Select CROs and vendors, then oversee their work against scope, timelines and budget.
• Work with external collaborators, including sites, investigators and consultants.
• Track study progress and flag risks to the clinical operations lead before they affect timelines.
• Review vendor deliverables and hold partners accountable when performance slips.
