Job summary

CorVel, based in Overland Park, KS, seeks a Clerical Assistant to support the claims staff with set-up and administration of workers’ compensation claims and case management. This onsite role handles mail, file processing, and input notes in the claims system, coordinating with providers, claimants and customers.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, PC literacy, and the ability to work independently and in a team, with solid organizational skills and a willingness to take on

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Six months of service oriented office experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Sets up new claims
• Process mail, handle files, and input notes/diary entries in the claims system
• Process payments, as needed
• Process form letters, state forms and reports
• Assist claims examiners with telephone calls including provider, claimant and customer calls
• Additional duties as assigned
