Job summary

PPG is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to serve as technical lead for assigned reactor systems at our Circleville, Ohio facility. This onsite role reports to the Process Engineering Manager and focuses on safety, quality, and process optimization.

Responsibilities include leading reactor operations, scaling up new products, applying Lean methods to drive cost and productivity improvements, and developing production logs and training materials for operators and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Understanding of polymer/organic chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of and improve manufacturing methods from raw material receipt to customer delivery to ensure all customer requirements are met.
• Lead the proper operation of reactor systems to ensure compliance with established safety standards, customer requirements, and automotive quality standards.
• Lead the scale-up of new products and assure quality systems are in place for process changes to existing products.
• Use Lean methodologies to find opportunities, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions to help meet plant safety, cost, and productivity goals.
• Develop complete and accurate production logs that ensure safe procedures for producing quality products.
• Complete daily technical review of production batches.
• Support the development and presentation of training programs for operators and other department personnel.
