Forvis Mazars US Executive Search Practice is partnering with a Nashville-area construction company to identify a Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance and accounting functions on site.

This highly hands-on opportunity requires solving problems, improving processes, and building the infrastructure to support future growth. The CFO will transition from day-to-day accounting to a more strategic leadership role over 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting and finance leadership experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, and construction accounting.
• Hands-on leadership while the department evolves.
• Experience with Vista ERP; familiarity with NetSuite/Oracle/SAP is a plus.
• Ability to build and develop an accounting organization.
• Open to a Controller stepping into CFO role.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, and reporting.
• Establish accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Provide hands-on leadership during transition as org evolves.
• Oversee WIP reporting and job costing.
• Support the transition to Vista ERP.
• Evaluate processes and identify improvements.
• Build the accounting team and future structure.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insight.
• Lead through change while maintaining stability.
