Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Honolulu, HI, is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide on-site assessment and management of injuries for assigned facility athletes. You will deliver immediate treatment, arrange referrals, and develop rehab programs to progress athletes back to sport.

The role requires current BOC certification, HI licensure, and a valid First Aid/CPR-AED (BLS). You’ll collaborate with physicians, coaches, and school staff to support safe athletic participation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Athletic Training or Health related fields.
• Current Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
• HI State AT Licensure.
• Current First Aid CPR/AED Certification (BLS from American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services on-site at schools or other non-clinical settings as indicated by contract.
• Offer injury evaluations, diagnosis, acute care, and rehabilitation sessions per Athletic Training scope.
• Attend practices/games as specified in site agreements.
• Develop and implement treatment programs for sport-related injuries within state licensing laws.
• Liaise with family physicians, specialists, school personnel, and coaches as appropriate.
• Track injury, treatment, and medication profiles; provide timely reports for program development.
• Communicate with other ATCs and sports staff about serious injuries, including concussions.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation teams to ensure continuity of post-injury therapy.
