Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital in Honolulu seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide on-site assessment and treatment for student-athletes under a per diem arrangement. BOC certification and Hawaii state licensure are required, along with First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold degree in Athletic Training or health-related field.
• Current BOC certification as Athletic Trainer.
• Hawaii State AT Licensure required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services in schools or other non-clinical settings as indicated by contract.
• Serve as on-site Athletic Trainer for variety of sports offered by schools.
• Evaluate and diagnose injuries; provide acute care and rehabilitation sessions as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians, school districts, and other personnel as appropriate.
• Track and develop athletes’ injury and treatment profiles; provide reports to SHC and athletic directors.
• Communicate regularly with other ATCs and sports personnel about athletes in injury treatment.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation team to ensure continuity of post-injury therapy.
• Provide supervision for student athletic trainers from approved programs.
• Mentor less experienced ATs including onboarding and training as needed.
