Job summary

Shriners Children’s in California seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide on-site assessment and management of sports injuries, including rehabilitation and return-to-sport planning within a clinical setting.

You will work under supervising physicians, coordinate with physical therapy, educate athletes, and participate in outreach and program development across the organization. This is a full-time role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Athletic Training or Health related fields.
• Current Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
• License in state of practice.
• Current First Aid CPR/AED Certification required (BLS from American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Clinic preparation and patient evaluation tasks including imaging confirmation.
• Work in clinic under supervising physician, with history taking and orthopedic evaluation.
• Provide home exercise programs, taping, brace fitting and patient education.
• Coordinate rehabilitation with physical therapy in-house and in the community.
• Participate in SMARTS testing and MD evaluation for clearance.
• Provide clinical and administrative support to Sports Medicine physicians.
