Job summary

IFF is seeking a capital project engineer to lead site minor capital programs at the New Century, KS site. This onsite role focuses on delivering safe, reliable manufacturing improvements in food ingredients.

Responsibilities include managing multi-discipline teams, overseeing budgets up to $5M portfolio value, and ensuring handover from inception to operation with strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of capital projects experience in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, industry codes, and manufacturing systems.
• Experience with project management fundamentals including scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Familiarity with MOC, utilities, equipment, and DCS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of site minor capital programs up to a total portfolio value of up to $5M and individual projects up to $1M.
• Execute projects from inception through operational handover, ensuring compliance with site and corporate engineering and safety processes.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, technology, safety, quality, and procurement to deliver robust project outcomes.
• Drive design development, constructability, and safety-in-design throughout all project phases.
• Maintain disciplined control of cost, schedule, and performance, including forecasting and monthly capital reporting.
• Manage internal resources and external engineering and construction partners to ensure scope, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Support readiness-to-operate, commissioning, and close-out activities, including documentation and financial closure.
• Contribute to site capital planning, aligning projects with operational and business needs.
