Job summary

Blue Ridge Automation seeks a full-time Instrument Calibration Technician to perform routine and non-routine calibrations on-site in Indianapolis, following 21 CFR Part 58.63, 210, and 211, in line with GLP/GMP.

The role reports to the Calibration Manager and requires meticulous attention to calibration standards, data integrity, and regulatory documentation, with a 12-hour night shift and a premium rate. Ideal for candidates with FDA-regulated, aerospace or pharmaceutical experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experiences relevant to this position.
• Minimum 2 years experience in instrumentation or calibration within regulated or industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of 21 CFR Part 58.63, Part 210, and Part 211.
• Proficiency in using calibration equipment such as multimeters, temperature calibrators, oil/ice baths, and pressure gauges.
• Familiarity with Beamex, ProCal, or comparable calibration management systems.
• Understanding of Secondary Reference Points and Maximum Permissible Error (MPE).
• Experience with automation systems, PLCs, or control valves.
• Other duties as required and may require overtime work.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts/repairs instruments to meet calibration tolerance requirements.
• Set-up standards and lab equipment to test, calibrate instruments.
• Analyze calibration data relative to MPE and initiate corrective actions for out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, datasheets, and OEM manuals for calibrations.
• Maintain reference standards with traceability to NIST or other metrology institutes.
• Ensure GMP/GLP documentation and support audits and inspections.
