Job summary

Chart, Inc. in Windsor, CT seeks an onsite CAD Designer to join the Howden USA Aftermarket division. You will produce complex layouts, interpret drawings, and generate production-ready 3D models for robotic welding, while maintaining tolerances and manufacturing data in ERP systems.

Minimum 5 years’ solid modeling experience (Inventor preferred) and knowledge of welding symbols, GD&T, drafting standards, and MS Office are required. Salary range is $85k–$95k with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ Solid Modeling experience, Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Knowledge of welding processes and welding symbols.
• KD&T and drafting standards knowledge required.
• Familiar with global engineering standards and sheet metal design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical design expertise within a cross-functional team for complex layouts and drafting.
• Interpret drawings and specifications and design within company capabilities.
• Design new components from sketches or designs and produce detail drawings.
• Specify tolerances, finishes, and data for manufacturing uses.
• Create 3D models and ensure dimensional and joint requirements for robotic welding.
• Prepare BOMs and procurement specs through ERP system.
• Assist other departments in interpreting drawings and resolving questions.
• Perform Design For Manufacturing Assemblies and update legacy designs.
