Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Security Engineer (Blue Team) to help defend spacecraft and rocket systems from sophisticated adversaries. You will build detection capabilities and automate SOC tooling to improve uptime and rapid triage.

You will collaborate with owners of high-risk systems, investigate anomalous activity, and participate in adversary emulation to close detection gaps. This onsite role requires extended hours as needed and offers a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in security engineering, computer science, cyber security, engineering, math, or other STEM field.
• Or 2+ years of incident response, security operations, or security engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with any modern programming language, including Python, Go, C++, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve security detection mechanisms and automation frameworks used by the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Engage with owners of high-risk systems to identify and prioritize detection gaps.
• Investigate anomalous or suspicious behavior as identified in the detection engineering process.
• Participate in adversary emulation activities to identify detection gaps in the environment.
