Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Security Engineer (Detection Engineering) to join the Blue Team and build detection capabilities for its spacecraft environment. You will develop tooling to close visibility gaps, automate triage workflows, and support incident response to protect mission-critical systems.

The role requires onsite work, with pay bands of $130k–$180k depending on level, knowledge, and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, 401(k), and stock options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in security engineering, computer science, cyber security, engineering, math, or other STEM.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve security detection mechanisms and automation frameworks for the Security Operations Center.
• Engage with owners of high-risk systems to identify and prioritize detection gaps.
• Investigate anomalous or suspicious behavior.
• Participate in adversary emulation activities to identify detection gaps.
