Job summary

GE HealthCare in Wichita, KS is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to service hospital equipment on-site, diagnose issues, and perform repairs with a focus on safety and uptime.

You'll conduct planned PMs, safety checks, and collaborate with on-site teams to maintain compliance and documentation.

Relocation assistance exists; willingness for after-hours coverage and on-call rotation is required; strong customer communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years in servicing medical equipment.
• Alternatively, military training with 2+ years of equipment service.
• HS Diploma/GED with 4+ years of medical equipment service.
• Analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues clearly.
• Willingness to be on-call and work after hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues and perform appropriate repairs.
• Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and document actions.
• Follow GE policies, hospital procedures, and ensure proper reporting.
• Communicate effectively with customers and coordinate with teammates.
• Share on-call responsibilities and support the onsite service team.
• Maintain tools, spares, and calibration of equipment.
