Job summary

GE HealthCare in Dallas, TX is seeking a Biomedical Technician I to evaluate, diagnose, repair and perform PM on basic biomedical equipment, ensuring high customer satisfaction through service excellence.

The role is on-site, requires travel to customer locations in the Dallas area, and may involve after-hours/on-call work. A degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience, is required, along with legal work authorization in the U.S. Relocation is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent military education, or GEHC Biomed/FE Services internship/apprenticeship program, or HS diploma with 2 years of experience servicing equipment.
• Ability to translate technical issues for customers in clear terms.
• Must be willing to be available after hours or on-call, including weekends, as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain license.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
• Must comply with background checks and immunization requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform PM on basic biomedical equipment under supervision.
• Assist more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
• Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete required documentation.
• Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
• Support contract obligations and business goals.
• Work as part of the local team to service accounts in the assigned area.
• Share on-call responsibilities when trained.
• Document repair actions and submit reports on schedule.
• Care for spares, tools and test equipment and ensure calibration.
• Enhance knowledge of current standards and safe use of medical equipment.
• Utilize manuals, tech support, Facetime, and online resources to answer PM questions.
• Meet Health and Human Services, EH&S, and regulatory requirements.
