Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to work onsite for a client in Liberty, North Carolina. This role supports the Battery Manufacturing Production Engineering team as they open and scale the world's largest Battery Manufacturing Plant.

The Automation Engineer ensures the proper operation of electrical equipment and systems in production, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering, hands-on troubleshooting, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

3+ years PLC programming and modification experience.
Experience with electrical and mechanical systems in industrial manufacturing.
Flexible schedule including overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

Test and repair electrical equipment and systems (circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives).
Write, program, troubleshoot, modify PLCs, robotics, cameras and other electronic equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair safety systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Plan and execute machine integration into mass production.
Document work with detailed schedules for assigned projects.
Collaborate with team members and engineers.
Problem solve to improve safety, quality and productivity.
